Hotel view to distant Winchelsea beacon
At the top of the hill of Iham can be seen the Beacon, which stands on the site of an old windmill brought down by the 1987 Great Storm. The hedgerow on the right conceals a footpath leading to the splendidly named Hogtrough Lane and onto New Winchelsea town.
Late 19th century maps suggest a reservoir once existed in the field, probably on the tree-lined dip above the ditch on the left.
