Old Fire

Old Fire

Originally known as "Cross Hollows", Shaniko was once called the wool capital of the world (Back in the sheep days) thanks to the Columbia Southern Railway. Unfortunately, most of the business district perished in a major fire in 1911; some never to be rebuilt. To complicate things even more the town was already experiencing a slow decline due to new railroad tracks avoiding Shaniko altogether. Now it's a Semi-Ghost Town that boasts a whopping 30 person population.

Speaking of "fire", I came across this antique fire truck which gets photographed quite often so I thought I'd cast my version into the ring.

Happy Truck Thursday, everyone! =)
