The historic Ottersbach mill

The historic Ottersbach mill in St. Peter am Ottersbach is about 400 years old. About 40 years ago, the mill was shut down, but 2012 began her "new life"!
The grandson of the master miller Gottfried Sixt restored the entire mill court using traditional building techniques and historic demolition material. Fully functioning mill units (mill with rye roll mill, stone mill, oil mill) are being produced, which, as in ancient times, grind the grain into flour. The grinding processes are explained by display boards and supplemented by an exhibition on the subject of bread.
Over the next few years, an adventure park and children's adventure worlds (moving grain mill, bread made from self-ground flour, Motorikpark am Wasser) and exhibition and seminar rooms are planned. The building is adapted for school visits as a practical example of living history on the subject of "bread".
