Mountainside After Mountainside Until Pico de Cerda (Black & White, BIg Bend National Park)

A roadside pulloff one mid-morning on a drive to Boquillas Canyon with a view looking to the east across some nearby Big Bend Range mountains and then finally into Mexico. What drew me into this image wasn't just the mountainous landscape in front of me, but it was also the seeming layer after layer of mountainside leading off into the distance. That's what I attempted to capture with this image. To compose the image, I just got at a certain distance behind a nearby hillside and guessed a good enough hyperlocal point. I metered though for the nearby mountains of the Sierra del Carmen, knowing that was a brighter area and didn't want to lose any details. But it was after converting to black & white using Silver Efex Pro 2 where I was able to bring some depth to the image and add tonal contrast with some color filters.
