After a seven month deployment, NMCB 5 is turning over all of their missions in the U.S. Pacific Command to NMCB 3. Both battalions are homeported in Port Hueneme, Calif. While deployed NMCB 5 was headquartered on Camp Shields in Okinawa, Japan and sent Seabees to work on 41 construction projects in 12 countries.
