Minas Gerais, South Atlantic 1996.
Helicopter operations on the Brazilian aircraft carrier Minas Gerais in October 1996.
This is an SH-3B, which is the Brazilian designation for the SH-3D. Brazil acquired six of these in 1996 and added them to the fleet of SH-3A's.
The Brazilian Sea Kings have been replaced by SH-60 Seahawks. N-3017 is preserved at the military gate of Brasilia airport.
The carrier was in service between 1960 and 2001. In 2004 she was towed to India and scrapped on a beach.
I took the photo from an UH-50 Esquilo (AS350 Écureuil built by Helibras).
