Edward Elgar's Grave, St Wulstan Church Cemetery, Little Malvern, England

Like many other great British people, Edward Elgar, the famous composer of the 'Pomp and Circumstances Marches' and the 'Enigma Variations', chose to be buried in humble village surroundings. He lies interred with his beloved wife in the cemetery of the Catholic church of St Wulfstan, close to where they lived in Worcestershire. As the tombstone states, Lady Elgar was to first to die, and Edward joined her beneath the earth 14 years later, gentlemanly leaving his wife to have more prominence on the memorial. The cemetery lies on a ridge of the Malvern Hills, and there is a wonderful view of the land below from Elgar's grave.
