Perhaps 50 or 60 years ago in the first decade after WWII this style of city house was frequently seen. But slowly the economic hardship and new priorities led to other materials and styles; for example, the corrugated steel on vertical surfaces, while usually keeping traditional roof tiles. The set of 5 or 6 old-style houses/shop fronts is located at the intersection of Route 365 (north-south) and the street leading to the Hoyama Bridge to the east of this spot maybe 300 meters or so in the distance.
