Badlands and Eroded Buttes in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

I captured this image not long after parking my rental and walking around the Oxbow Overlook. I got the idea for working angles and adjusting focal lengths to show how less is often more from an article i'd read about on a Digital Photography School posting. For this image, I zoomed into a portion of some nearby badlands along the bluffs of the Little Missouri River area. I felt zooming into this area brought out a more focused view to give a feeling that these badlands stretched all around. I could still capture some of that sense of grandeur by angling my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward, letting the eye slowly sweep across this setting and landscape of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
