Lakagígar West-Oeste

Lakagígar West-Oeste

230 years ago several fissures opened in this area forming 130 craters from which huge amounts of lava flowed to the sea, this was the greatest eruption in Icelandic history. The material that this eruption expelled to the atmosphere changed the climate in the northern hemisphere killing 6 million people, making this eruption the deadliest natural catastrophe in historical times, and even changed the history of mankind.
