Formations and Etching Across the Cliff Walls of the Waterpocket Fold (Black & White, Capitol Reef National Park)

While I won't deny that seeing this with one's eyes (In color, of course) isn't a sight to take in, it was when I looked at this image after converting to black & white that the formations…etchings, if you will, really came out and added a kind of tonal contrast not seen. I later used a Dark Sky recipe in Filter Efex Pro 2 for the final image. I felt that darkness of the skies added an extra drama for this setting in Capitol Reef National Park.
