Winter nets pulled up at Kono village, Fukui prefecture

Twice a day the members of the fishers' coop with communal rights to this section of the village boundaries will form a line at the static nets to pull in the day's catch. If it is salable, or at least eatable, then it will come to shore for sorting, boxing on ice, and delivery to fish shops and restaurants offering the freshest fish.
