Janet, one of our number had spotted a child with a bad untreated hare-lip at the fishing village we had visited earlier in the week. I too had seen the child and had not asked the mother if I could take an image as I thought it intrusive but Janet had intervened with our guide and purser and the mother accepted her offer of help. Janet arranged for donations from us all and I am glad to say that the child has now had its lip repaired in Saigan after our contributions had paid for transport and food etc. The operation was carried out by an international charity. A very good outcome to a random meeting.
