Transplanting rice, filling seedling gaps by hand

This roll of slidefilm was marked February, but contains images like this that would have to date to late March or April when seedlings have sprouted and roots are ready to take hold in the prepared and flooded paddies. Gas-powered transplanters make short work of what used to be a group effort of several hours, but still there are gaps or double-seedlings that can be corrected by hand follow-up, shown here.
