The ridge line is maybe 5 or 10 meters from side to side, so the scattered boulders so high up must have dropped from the air and landed in just the right place to avoid the steep slope on either side. The ancient extinct volcanoes may be the source; alternatively the ridge itself may once have been thrust or ejected upward with a crumbly edge that broke little by little into these scattered pieces.
