A brass band from nearby junior or senior high school is maybe 300 meters away and lower down on the side of the mountain at the park adjoining the Okafuto-shrine. The entire rock amphitheater is about 20-25 meters across and along this east face are maybe 25 or more small statues cemented into carved niches high and low. There seemed to be no helpful interpretive sign, so perhaps they predate such things and only some digging in the local history section of the library, or contact with someone versed on the formation can shed light on the significance: individual petitions, signs of thanks, whole-temple effort or of multiple temples?
