SEEING IN THE DARK


Soldiers assigned to Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa’s East African Response Force fire M240 machine guns and practice bounding movements in November in Djibouti. Night vision capabilities, which use the infrared spectrum to see in the dark, have evolved from bulky, long-exposure cameras to portable goggles and rifle sights that Soldiers can use easily and reliably.
