On Thursday we will travel to the Black Rock Desert - the same place where Burning Man takes place. Not to immerse ourselves in art, but to launch high power rockets at Balls 27. This is the biggest rocket event in the world, with people participating from around the world. Would you like to join?

This is my shadow, taken at last year's Balls - it looks like I have very long legs at sunset on the playa.

My son is leading a team of students at San Jose State to work on a big rocket project called HARP. They are now in a crunch to make the vessel ready for Balls. If all goes well, it will reach almost 4 times the speed of sound, and will fly 5 times higher than commercial aircrafts. The sky turns pitch black at that altitude.

I processed a balanced and a paintery HDR photos from three RAW exposures, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive feedback.
