Summer Tanager

Male of Summer Tanager (Piranga rubra), Laguna Seca Ranch, Texas. This species are fairly common and despite declines and increases in local populations, overall their populations were stable between 1966 and 2014, according to the North American Breeding Bird Survey. The North American breeding population has remained generally stable over the last 20 years, although some populations have declined in the eastern United States and along the Colorado River in the Southwest.
