Mystic Storm Clouds And Sunset Above the Anza-Borrego Desert on July 11, 2018

Mystic Storm Clouds And Sunset Above the Anza-Borrego Desert on July 11, 2018

"The sky was all purple, there were people runnin' everywhere."

Timelapse of the epic, ominous, and naturally purple clouds seen from the Anza-Borrego Desert on the evening of July 11, 2018.

I headed out to the desert in hopes of capturing some lightening. Unfortunately there was no lightning after sunset, but I got treated to some amazing clouds and sunset regardless.

I shot this between Sweeny Pass and Canyon Sin Nombre in the southern portion of the park with a Canon 6D and Tokina 17-35mm lens. Shot in Aperture Priority at shutter speeds ranging from 1/400 sec to 2 sec f/6.6 ISO 400 17mm. I used LRTimelapse to compile the timelapse video and remove any flickering. Finally, I used Blender VSE to add a title, music, and fade out effects.

Background music is a portion of "Clouds, Rain, Sun" by Podington Bear.
