Desert Sky, JoshuaTree NP 4-13

(1 in a multiple picture album)
The Joshua Tree is a miracle in and of itself. It needs just the right climate and the presence of the Yucca Moth which is only found in narrow ranges of the USA, Joshua Tree National Park being one. There are more Joshua Trees here than anywhere on the planet.
The park is also unique in that two distinct desert ecosystems, the Mojave and the Colorado, come together here. This accounts for a great variety of desert plants.
Finally, the sky over the park is usually spectacular as you can see in this picture.
