Years ago, someone gave me some of these traveling onions, told me just to put them in the ground, and they would grow. And grow they did. They're prolific. In turn, I gave a start to my mother-in-law. When we moved, I didn't take any with me to the new house. But later my mother-in-law gifted some of the traveling onions back to me. They're actually called traveling onions, because they get top heavy, dip to the ground, and root a new plant, so they keep traveling around the garden.
