YOKOSUKA, Japan (June 14, 2019) Vice Adm. Richard Brown, commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet awards Capt. Wilson Marks, commander, Naval Surface Group Western Pacific (CNSGWP) with the Legion of Merit during a change of command ceremony. Capt. Colby Howard relieved Marks as the commander of CNSGWP. Officially established in April 2018, CNSGWP's mission is to oversee the Forward Deployed Naval Force Japan (FDNF-J) surface ship manning, maintenance, training, and certification.
