We Are Socialists — Hitler and Lenin

We are Socialists
we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the weak...
...with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions.
— National Socialist Worker’s Party leader Adolf Hitler, seen here with self-described Social-Democrat Vladimir Lenin in 1909

Socialists in the US lauded the Nazis and Soviets in the 1930s...until the truth of what they did became inconvenient.

It's not surprising that today's leftists want to deny their two most successful examples, since success for a socialist requires enormous state power, which ALWAYS is abused.

And yes, not only did Hitler and his movement refer to themselves as socialists and govern as socialists, but Lenin referred to himself as a Social Democrat some time before he overthrew the Russian government.

The quote is from a speech Hitler gave in on May 1st, 1927, but also summarizes the normal National Socialist platform through its whole history.
