A lonely Joshua tree in the Mojave Desert

A lonely Joshua tree in the Mojave Desert

On the way to Las Vegas we stopped north of the Mojave Air & Space Port for sunset. This is desert land with bushes and Joshua trees.

The name Joshua tree was given by a group of Mormon settlers crossing the Mojave Desert in the mid-19th century. The tree's unique shape reminded them of a Biblical story in which Joshua reaches his hands up to the sky in prayer.

I processed a paintery and a balanced HDR photo from three RAW exposures, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive feedback.
