1922 American LaFrance Fire Truck, Grovewood Village, Asheville, North Carolina

This motorized fire truck, a Type 75, was custom-built and delivered to Asheville on November 3, 1922 by American LaFrance of Elmira, New York. The truck has a 6-cylinder gasoline engine and delivers 750 gallons of water per minute through a positive displacement, all-bronze rotary-gear pump. It was in use for over 40 years.
