No Power, No Trains

Due to the island-wide blackout caused by the M6.7 earthquake on the 6th, all trains (and buses and planes and diesel trains and subways and streetcars) were stopped throughout Hokkaido. The train station in Kitahiroshima (shown here) managed to get some power (you can see the exit lights shining, so maybe it was just battery power) but the entrance to the gates to the train platform was shuttered. JR Hokkaido stationed people in front to make sure people know exactly why things were closed... After this, we went to some grocery stores to see if they were going to open up for the day. We found a couple that were going to and returned later.
