Archaic terracotta revetment plaque from Caprifico: chariots drawn by winged horses

A variant of the "Veii-Rome-Velletri" decorative system, ca. 520 BCE. from the archaic temple at Caprifico di Torrecchia (Cisterna di Latina), a possible location of ancient Pometia (Pleiades 423005; Pleiades 438841).

The materials in Cori were repatriated from the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, and the Antikenmuseum, Basel, while numerous further fragments are held by other museums, including the British Museum, the Metropolitan Museum, the Fogg Art Museum, Akademisches Kunstmuseum Bonn, and various private collections.
