According to AP President Barack Obama praised President Piggy for his cooperation on security matters in Africa, particularly in neighbouring Somalia?

The issue discussed includes the main interest of the US, is signing a long term lease with Djibouti for a U.S. military camp in the East African country and says the camp is a, quote, "critical facility." Guelleh says his country's decision to allow US troops shows his support for international peace. In other work, US know that Piggy is not in a stable ground politically, as little friendly corrupted dictator he outlive his usefulness, so it’s perfectly convenient time to make him sign anything even if that means similar contract “Agreement Between the United States and Cuba for the Lease of Lands for Coaling and Naval stations; February 23, 1903”
Mon lien

The agreement was known as the Platt Amendment, initiated in 1903 after the Spanish-American War., the terms in which the US government acquired the treaty have always been in question. Historians’ argue the agreement was extracted from the then Cuban government under threat, under pressure. We know Piggy is under pressure for his political survival. We also know how the previous land lease were negotiated thanks Wiki Leaks, it’s was far from professionalism.

AP went on to say Djibouti, a nation of less than 1 million people, hosts the only permanent U.S. military base in Africa, Camp Lemonnier. Djibouti is not the only military base in Africa, the Island of Diego Garcia is also anther African territory with US military base.

The land lease amount is now $63 million per year, surprisingly about 100% increase, but there is all ways more strings attached to its, did Piggy give up more Djiboutian right, is Djibouti becoming another nuclear dump site? is Piggy going to test that money and enjoy couple more years?

Now, US strategic interest for the next ten years is taken care, Piggy is longer indispensable little friendly dictator. its now up to opposition groups and Djiboutian to step up the struggle to get rid of Piggy.

Guelleh said his country's arrangement with U.S. forces is a sign of Djibouti's "support for international peace and for peace in our region as well."

Piggy said his country's arrangement with U.S. forces is a sign of Djibouti's "support for international peace and for peace in our region as well."
Is the region is more peaceful of having US military there, the recorded history of US involvement in the region manifest the otherwise more death and destruction.
Have your say

The official insisted on anonymity because this person was not authorized to discuss the agreement publicly by name.

American system of governance encourage transparency, it’s in a public interest to publish the lease agreement for both the US gov. and Djiboutian, but the incompetent party as usual insist that everything should remain confidential, in this case it’s obvious that Piggy’s team are not up to task to negotiate with slick skilful Americans and to sign the deal in midst of political pressure

The terms of the lease indicate that the U.S. is likely to maintain a long-term military presence in Djibouti. Camp Lemonnier is the only U.S. base in sub-Saharan Africa.

The hint is there for everybody to see, the terms of the lease indicates a long term military presence in Djibouti , there must a clauses there in the agreement that makes difficult to unilaterally voids the agreement as the host country , that exactly similar to The agreement was known as the Platt Amendment.

The Pentagon plans to spend more than $1 billion over the next 25 years to expand and renovate Camp Lemonnier - reaffirming its presence in Africa.

This yet again here another hint of the secrecy surrounding the deal between US government and Piggy, the agreement should have many tricky clauses that give more advantage for US government. If the US is to spend$1 billion over the next 25 years only for expansion and renovation of the camp Lemonier, there is assurance mechanism built in by the US negotiator that make the land lease an open agreement.

Obama announced the United States would increase technical and financial aid for Djibouti civilian projects and, according to the statement, would "provide enhanced security assistance and equipment to Djiboutian security forces."

Since 2002, the US military spent billions of dollars and there is nothing to show, in term of infrastructure around the comp lemonier, there are a lots of pothole, the roads leading to military camps that contributed by the military heavy machineries. The military has renovated few public schools, and they regularly supply nearly expired medicines that there is no longer useful for them to needy local clinic.

According to Pan-African News Wire editor, Abayomi Azikiwe said there are more at play than terrorism. "More and more oil is being imported there from Africa into the United States, as well as other strategic minerals," Azikiwe said. "That, in our opinion, is guiding this increased military presence."

According to Pentagon Press Secretary Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby said that his Boss and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel discussed with Piggy the regional security interests and bilateral issues, including counterterrorism and details of the new 30-year land lease to support U.S. forces at Camp Lemonnier.

The information of the Camp Lemonnier land lease is rapidly changing; first it was said 10 years, second the White House press release said 10 years plus 10 more years' automatic renewal without negotiation, and finally the D & D said 30 years land lease. It seems that US government representative are engaged in a deliberate information control, they don't to sound like Nikhil Bhuta, the chief financial officer for the JB Group, an Indian mining companyMon lien

In Djibouti there are no RPI and CPI figures, the minister in charge of economic and finance Mr Dawaleh doesn't even know what these term mean. The only person in charge who compiles and manipulates RPI and CPI data is IMF resident in Djibouti.

For the sake of comparison, we use the US annual CPI data, just to get snapshot of the US dollar purchasing power for the last 30 years, since Djiboutian Frank is tied to US dollar itself as many other currencies around the globe.

Approximately $16 million of 1984 will have the same purchasing power of todays $38 million of Camp Lemonier land lease price tag, before Piggy signed another mysterious long term contract. The accumulation of the year to year inflation plus other economic factors would have wiped out about 60% of its value.

Going forward, $63,000,000.00 the current land lease rate, with conservative assumption rate of inflation 3% will have the same purchasing power as $152,917,535.68, 30 years later. This simple calculation however explains, in 30 years Djibouti will be earning roughly less than 40% of today's purchasing power of $63,000,000.00 as the current land lease stands.

What a disaster, this is a national treason; Piggy will not be around for the next 30 years to witness his colossal mistake. Neither his grandchildren will have the right to earn equitable consideration from the contract that he signed with the US gov., nor will they stand a chance to renegotiate tricky and complicated contract with US gov.

As expected Piggy has had the contaminated handshake with antidote and it looks like he is going to follow his mentor Meles Zenawi’s footsteps. That is one of the reason the webmaster purposely deleted the topic, in others words s/he was pressurized to conceal the ultimate outcome that we are facing now.

It was expected destiny of Piggy, prescribed by west after he outlasted his purpose. Though he served the interest of the west well, he becomes an embarrassment to their double standard policy toward democracy and good governance, when he hinted that he might stand for the fourth term. it was also understood after Piggy sold-out his only bargaining chip (which is Camp Lemonier land lease at a very cheap price for quite a long time making it the Guantanamo of Africa), that he is vulnerable.

What is the chance of him recovering that deadly handshake contaminated with polonium-210 that consumed Litvinenko, Arafat, Meles,………..?

Who is the chosen leader handpicked by the major stakeholders?

If chaos is to follow the departure of Piggy, what will be the likely scenario?

1 Ethiopia will invade to defend its strategic interest, it will capture and control the all the ports and all the interior routes to Ethiopia.

2 The American army will control and secure the coastal area from Loya-ado to Hara including the airport.

3 The French will look after the remaining coastal area from Hara to kempinski Hotel including plata.

4 NGOs such as UNICEF, USAID and others will be filling up the function of the governmental institution and handing out foods and the daily necessities.

5 Just like Somalia next door, hopelessly Djibouti will be fighting to regain its independence for the next couple of decades.

6 Perhaps Ethiopia will annex Djibouti just like Crimea and renew its historic claim that Djibouti be part of Ethiopia.

Finally, who’s interest to instigate more terrorist plots in Djibouti when you consider the above mention stakeholders?
