In Djibouti there are no RPI and CPI figures, the minister in charge of economic and finance Mr Dawaleh doesn't even know what these term mean. The only person in charge who compiles and manipulates RPI and CPI data is IMF resident in Djibouti.

For the sake of comparison, we use the US annual CPI data, just to get snapshot of the US dollar purchasing power for the last 30 years, since Djiboutian Frank is tied to US dollar itself as many other currencies around the globe.

Approximately $16 million of 1984 will have the same purchasing power of todays $38 million of Camp Lemonier land lease price tag, before Piggy signed another mysterious long term contract. The accumulation of the year to year inflation plus other economic factors would have wiped out about 60% of its value.

Going forward, $63,000,000.00 the current land lease rate, with conservative assumption rate of inflation 3% will have the same purchasing power as $152,917,535.68, 30 years later. This simple calculation however explains, in 30 years Djibouti will be earning roughly less than 40% of today's purchasing power of $63,000,000.00 as the current land lease stands.

What a disaster, this is a national treason; Piggy will not be around for the next 30 years to witness his colossal mistake. Neither his grandchildren will have the right to earn equitable consideration from the contract that he signed with the US gov., nor will they stand a chance to renegotiate tricky and complicated contract with US gov.

As expected Piggy has had the contaminated handshake with antidote and it looks like he is going to follow his mentor Meles Zenawi’s footsteps. That is one of the reason the webmaster purposely deleted the topic, in others words s/he was pressurized to conceal the ultimate outcome that we are facing now.

It was expected destiny of Piggy, prescribed by west after he outlasted his purpose. Though he served the interest of the west well, he becomes an embarrassment to their double standard policy toward democracy and good governance, when he hinted that he might stand for the fourth term. it was also understood after Piggy sold-out his only bargaining chip (which is Camp Lemonier land lease at a very cheap price for quite a long time making it the Guantanamo of Africa), that he is vulnerable.

If chaos is to follow the departure of Piggy, what will be the likely scenario?

1 Ethiopia will invade to defend its strategic interest, it will capture and control the all the ports and all the interior routes to Ethiopia.

2 The American army will control and secure the coastal area from Loya-ado to Hara including the airport.

3 The French will look after the remaining coastal area from Hara to kempinski Hotel including plata.

4 NGOs such as UNICEF, USAID and others will be filling up the function of the governmental institution and handing out foods and the daily necessities.

5 Just like Somalia next door, hopelessly Djibouti will be fighting to regain its independence for the next couple of decades.

6 Perhaps Ethiopia will annex Djibouti just like Crimea and renew its historic claim that Djibouti be part of Ethiopia.

Finally, who’s interest to instigate more terrorist plots in Djibouti when you consider the above mention stakeholders?
