The british were conquerors, and wanted a port.
For them to sign a treaty of mutual respect and protection with two tribes inside zaylac as native means only one thing, they were both present and were having great power and influence for british to need their collaboration.

The proof is the zaylici ppl are most of the time mixed between these people. From language point of view these two tribe are the closiest and do share an ancestor (DIR).

Knowing who came first there is it worthy enought to have fights and hate?
Ex ennemies (communiste and free world) are taking each other hand to go forward and we are still fighting about a small almost empty area and around a document wrote by our conqueror yaax anaa islaantii

Here is another moment in the history of Beech Ciise names of all Somali-Ciise leaders who signed the petition January 22, 1948

22 January 1948

We, the issa people, are cut up and divided among three sovereign powers-Ethiopia, France and Great Britain. Our grazing and water rights within the areas held by these powers are covered and provides for under Treaties. We now realize that our economic life cannot improve and we cannot advance socially or politically whilst we are broken up by three de facto frontiers; as long as we remain separated from other of race.

We are Somalis and Shari the same language and religion with other Somalis .We inter-marry freely and have the same mode of life. It is our firm desire to be joined to the other Somalis.

We are convinced that our present state is ruinous to our future and welfare. We can form a geographical and racial entity only with a United Somaliland.

Today after 60 year occupation, the Issa Somalis in British Somaliland and French Somaliland have no improvements to show in development, education or economic well-being. As to the Ethiopian Government, the Amharas despise us as Muslim, they exercise their authority with a harsh hand, and they deny us freedom of speed. No attention is paid to our grievances.

There has been no Government. We are in the position of a backward people subject to a backward 'alien' Government which has no sympathy for us and wishes to keep us for ever subordinate to them. The rulers have no racial, cultural or religious affinity with us. We do not even speak the same language.

It is our considered and confirmed resolve to be united with our brother Somalis under the protection and guidance of a Government with can develop our country and give us the modern education and training necessary until we can take over the administration of our country.

Harar is an integral part of our territory. It is an important economic and commercial link between the Somalis of the West. As Harar is an important economic unit in our territory we desire its incorporation into a great Somaliland as such incorporation is absolutely essential.

We, the undersigned, sultan Chiefs and Sheikhs of the Issa Somalis do hereby solemnly submit this petition and affix our signatures and marks thereto.

Zieg Heil

In djibouti people like you who are pragmatic are rare, but those that tried and who are trying again to stir trouble have the upper hand in our horn of africa.

You're right brother,
but pragmatism could leave us united so that we could stand hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder and win our upper-hand-gaining ambitions if we were together. Moreover, thoughts change into tangible things when those who are masterminds try their best and never give up.
Thanks
