While surfing on the net i came across to this book, it was written by Dambisa Moyo. In her book Dambisa argue that government aid has not helped Africa despite $ one trillion being poured into Africa over the last four decades. She wants to cutting of aid within five years.
I did not read her book, in fact i just got it, but two things sold me to her idea. The first things are her logic and the way she present it. The second thing is the fierce reaction of NGO and liberals that her book generate.

Here a debate where she eloquently deliver her arguments
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=enDmHgJC4eY

she discusses dead aid with a mp

Do you think aid is doing more harm than good in Africa?

salut bro ,
i am definitly agreed with her . the aid that african leaders are receiving is the main obstacle of the economy of africa.
they receive millions of dollars for free every year .
this aid is the big probleme of africa.i think this lady found the big probleme for africans. but how to fight against this ?
everything that she said in her interview is true and all africans have the same probleme.
if europeans and americans or chine give you aid money is not for nothing they need something back ,they manipulate our leaders .
they always take something bigger than the one they give. so the question is how we can have an african country ,our government independante economically ,politically, etc... with no corruption.

cest un sujet vraiment interessant j aimerais que les djiboutiens discutent et chacun donne son avis ou opinion.

merci a toi khalid j ai trouve interessant le livre qu elle a ecris .deadly aid.

merci a tous

When You receive Money freely ... Your action tends to be : Pure lazyness.

The aids might help if it was properly used but how do we maintain it when the hyenas are sitting on it while the others starve to death?

Oh well ... Life sucks (mostly).

I am not talking about your Bonus or your Tax return. Those are well earned money you worked hard within your employment period. If you were to receive millions of funds when you have no knowledge of management or would supply like to have power in a diminished countries. Then, Dictators are hitting a Jackpot!

Aid has not only produce corrupt regimes in Africa, it's corrupted the donors. It is permitted them to get away with doing things that make themselves feel good, rather than honest confrontation with reality on the ground. No one in western world will advocate stooping the aid, they found cheaper with the status quo.
The good thing about Dambisa book is it offer a new direction, a African point of view.
This a wake up call for everybody, specially Africans.
