Mohamed Bule Sidi Osman
Mohamed OsmanMy exposure to the wonderful colors of the universe dates back to March 12th of 1952, the day I was brought to light in a small town called Merka, Somalia. I grew up in a world of turquoise-blue oceans and tangerine-orange dunes.
My father was a professional tailor. In his shop I worked everyday with bolts of fabric in every hue imaginable. I developed an eye for which colors looked best together.
I attended Medical school in Europe. A region affluent in art & culture. Africa gave me the blessing of exposure to indigenous and naturally inspiring art.
I am a self-taught artist and I use acrylic as a media for my paintings.

Doctor's art reflects past in Somalia
by Tyrone Beason
Seattle Times staff reporter

Dr. Mohamed Osman is every bit the physician doting like a parent, methodical in his actions, analytical but not aloof.

"I never took any class to paint. Art is relative," explains Group Health Dr. Mohamed Osman. This piece with mothers and children is titled "The Joy Of Parenting."
